This highly productive variety is named in honor of Norwood Meiners, a passionate gardener and historian from Mandeville, Louisiana, with whom Brad Gates shared many cherished conversations about tomatoes until his passing in 2010. In the early 2000s, seeds from Beauty King were sent to Norwood, who noted that one plant yielded clusters of large cherry-sized tomatoes resembling mini Beauty Kings. Rediscovered in 2012 and grown out over two seasons, this unique and flavorful variety is now available for all to enjoy, carrying a legacy of friendship and gardening passion.
